Conference at the Brocher Foundation, Hermance, Switzerland

October 17-19, 2023

The Leviathan project team has organized a 3-day conference at the Brocher Foundation in Geneva in October 2023.

The Brocher Foundation is recognized for its promotion of multidisciplinary research on the ethical, legal and social issues (ELSI) of new medical developments and health policies.

Its main objective is to host researchers from around the world to work and organize workshops and academies.

The members of the Budapest team have presented on the following topics:
- Péter Kakuk: Mapping the postwar legacies of eugenics insocialist countries: A conceptual history of eugenics in Hungary
- Márton Varju: Doctors, patients and the impact of a 'private law creep' onpatients' rights in socialist health care in Central Europe
- Mária Éva Földes: Social Welfare Rights in the Post-War Europe in the Field of Health Care
