The purpose of the EnTire project, funded by the EU Horizon 2020 Program, is to promote research integrity among all those involved in scientific research. The project consortium, coordinated by the Vrije Universiteit Medical Center, Amsterdam (now Amsterdam University Medical Centers, AUMC) brings together social scientists, philosophers, ethicists, designers, and IT experts representing twelve partner insitutions from across the European Union. The consortium will provide answers to the question what research misconduct is. What is data fabrication in science? What are the laws, guidelines, and authorities dealing with these issues? Where can one find relevant documents? How should one proceed if he or she experiences misconduct in academia? How can one make students know about these issues? Are there available teaching tools? University staff and people in academic centers and other institutions are facing these questions more and more prevalently.
