The OSF-CEU Liaison Office cordially invites you to the next session of the OSF-CEU Brown Bag Lunch Series entitled “DNA on TRIAL”,on Wednesday, May 30 at noon, in conference room 803 at the Open Society Institute building, Október 6. utca 12.

Professor Sándor’s research interests include the social, ethical, and human rights implications of assisted reproduction, genetics, biobanks, transplantation, and the policy aspects of new technologies in the life sciences. She published seven books in the field of human rights and biomedical law and recently taught courses at CEU entitled “Human Rights and Biopolitics” and “Privacy Rights in Biotechnology”.

On this occasion, Professor Sándor will speak about recent theoretical and legal questions on the various kinds of applications of the human DNA. It is a challenging task to explore and to analyze the dialogue between law and science in a complex way and to peel off the legacy of an older, paternalistic professional tradition, and to deflect eugenic and reductionist thinking.
